Cultural Competence

Introduction to SPMI

Cultural competence, also known as intercultural competence, is a complex and multifaceted concept that describes a person’s ability to effectively and appropriately interact with people from different cultural backgrounds. In project management the cultural connection is related to the methodology, procedures, work instructions, templates and terminology used by an organisation and how the system is learnt, delivered, evaluated, changed and adapted to establish “this is how things are done around here”!
